I’m not normally the kind of person who gets caught up in the whole “meme” thing, but I thought this was actually somewhat interesting. Yesterday was rather eventful and I thought this would be a good way of imparting a little more knowledge about myself that wasn’t the standard “about me” type of post.
I won’t “tag” anybody else for this as I think it’s a waste of time and simply a plea for more hits and links. I’ll simply put down my answers to the four subjects below.
Eight Things I Like
1 – Chocolate
2 – the television series Burn Notice
3 – prestidigitation
4 – Blue Man Group
5 – loose fitting shirts
6 – oranges
7 – performing charity work through the Knights of Columbus
8 – that “new book” smell
Eight Things I Did Yesterday
1 – Took the bus to drop off August & Déla at pre-school and walked the mile or so home. This regular activity is a great contributor for my loss of 40 pounds in the last 9 months.
2 – Listened to the Grapes of Rad while working (http://www.grapesofrad.com/)
3 – Ate Indian food for lunch (I could have a whole series of posts about the yumminess of the cuisine)
4 – Purchased tickets for the upcoming Green Day concert. The band is kicking off its world tour here in Seattle. I Haven’t seen them yet, and tickets were semi-affordable ($50).
5 – Participated in the weekly pick-up game of dodgeball at the local community center (the only regular game of dodgeball in Seattle as far as I know)
6 – Watched “Table for 12” on TLC
7 – Went to the grocery store and picked up a few items for dinner this week
8 – Almost threw up while brushing my teeth (I have a horrible gag reflex)
Eight Things I Wish I Could Do
1 – Sing
2 – Math
3 – Hold my temper better
4 – Sleep through the night without having to get up a couple of times to use the bathroom
5 – Write neater, because my handwriting is horrible
6 – Find jeans that fit (I need a 33” inseam and jeans seem to only come in either 32” or 34”)
7 – finish organizing my office
8 – play piano
Eight Things I Don’t Like
1 – Poopy diapers (been dealing with them for six years now, and I think I’m about ready to stop)
2 – I really get irritated when television networks cancel a series but don’t own up to the fact that they are canceling it, just letting everybody sort of wait around including the cast, crew, and viewers.
3 – Blu-ray discs that offer up the same package of special features as the DVD, including the whole “standard definition” thing. If you’re going to port something over to Blu-ray, at least do the job right and make everything high definition.
4 – Udon
5 – The somewhat arbitrary storylines that Desperate Housewives is throwing at viewers (like Orson’s Kleptomania).
6 – All the talking disc jockeys do on the radio
7 – How all the Saturday morning cartoons are based on toy products
8 – My crappy gag reflex that kicks in every time I brush my teeth
