Day 28 – A Song That Makes You Feel Guilty
“Someday I Suppose” – Mighty Mighty Bosstones
This one has me stumped. I’ve got a very good friend with whom I discuss music regularly. We talked about this a while, as well as several of the other days. He is one of the people that expressed to me that I should pick Rick Springfield as the entry for day 14. Even though he knows me well, he is still surprised by the fact I like him.
So we discussed a number of the other days in this exercise, and he helped me come to the realization for some. Both of us, however, came up blank for this. Guilt is an emotion that is closely related to sadness. I’ve already done sad, and there isn’t a song that actually makes be feel guilty for something I’ve done. I’m not saying I haven’t done anything wrong in my life, just that there is no song that triggers that response from my past.
Then why pick “Someday I Suppose”? Have you listened to the lyrics? It’s a great song about looking back on your life and the directions you could, and perhaps should, have taken.
