And it’s late again. After 8 at night. Most of the kids are in bed. I still have a couple of hours of work ahead of me. I need to bust out a blog post to stay current with NaBloPoMo. So I’m scrambling. Of course.
What was I doing earlier today? Well, if you’ve read one of my posts from earlier this week, you would know I like to get up at 5 in the morning to get some work done before anybody else gets up and the morning routine kicks into high gear. Unfortunately I overslept by about a half hour. Xavier, my 18 month old, also decided that would be a great time to wake up. So did my 4 year old Ciárán.
The early morning shift was a bust. After about 9:30 when I get home from getting the kids to school and my morning shift as crossing guard was over, I settled in to get some work done. That was over far too quickly, assembling things to mail, dealing with errands that needed to be run, etc.
After picking up Ciárán from pre-school, and running more errands, and getting lunch taken care of, Xavier down for afternoon nap (which didn’t go well) I attempted to get some more work done. Writing? Unfortunately not. There were too many other “little things” that required attention. Before I knew it, I had to go do my afternoon shift as crossing guard.
Getting home was certainly not relaxing, as we had to get everything from the backyard into the shed. That should be its own blog post. Barbeque equipment, bikes, chairs, the folding canopy, lawn mower, 4 kids worth of crap… er… toys. Oh, and I had to make dinner.
Of course after dinner was the bath and bedtime routine. That brings me to right now. 300 words hastily scrambled together just so I can have a poor excuse of an entry to keep my NaBloPoMo streak going.
Yay vanity projects!
