We’re getting short changed with the latest “Dora The Explorer” DVD release. I don’t care how good the episodes are, but we are only getting 3 episodes. In the past when Nickelodeon and Paramount put out a 3 episode DVD, one of them would be a double-length episode. Not this time. Just over 60 minutes of “Dora The Explorer” content is on this DVD. Compare that with the recent “Bubble Guppies” DVD which features 6 episodes and runs a little over 2 hours and costs only $2 more (MSRP).
I’m really disappointed in this release. Sure, there’s a sheet of sticker with artwork inspired by/lifted from the titular episode, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of content.
“The Butterfly Ball” is the most recent episode to air. I know, because I watched it. Dora and Boots need to help a butterfly friend get to the butterfly ball. It’s a fun episode, and maybe I liked it more because of the appearance by Diego and baby Jaguar. Two other recent episodes are on the disc “Vamos A Pintar” and “Feliz Dia De Los Padres” both filled with the usual Dora charm, along with some introductory Spanish and yelling at the television set.
Actually, I’m surprised the last episode wasn’t saved and used as a centerpiece for a centerpiece for another DVD focusing on celebrations. “Feliz Dia De Los Padres” is a Father’s Day episode.
Still, an hour’s worth of 3 episodes? Shame on you Nickelodeon and Paramount. Quit short changing the customers and fans.
