Fred Meyer is a regional chain of stores, sort of like Target, but with a full grocery store and a little less of the other stuff. Our local store closed a year ago for remodeling and finally reopened at the beginning of the month.
One of the things about our local Fred Meyer was the horse. A number of these types of stores have similar items, insert a quarter and “ride” for 60 seconds. These can be horses, or train engines, rockets, whatever. You get the idea.
That horse in front of our local Fred Meyer was a fixture in my kids’ lives. Then it was gone, along with our local Fred Meyer. When Fred Meyer reopened, the horse was absent. It took a few weeks, but it returned.
Not only is it back, but according to the store director it’s 35 years old. It’s been refurbished and looks better than ever. Ciárán and Xavier were glad to see its return.
Sometimes it is the little things that can mean the most.
