Bonamargy Friary

ire bonamargy 01When I was here three years ago I had no idea this was even here. It’s not even fully outside of Ballycastle!

While I was away to Belgium one of the things Laura and the kids did was check this place out. It was disappointing as it was closed off, but I had yet to see it so we were going to stop by and just see it for a few moments on our way back home from a day out. Turns out, it had been opened up and ready for visitors.

This is a very cool place and easily accessible. If you’re in the north headed to the more famous of destinations, such as the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle or Carrick-A-Rede, stop off here for a few minutes.

Ireland is littered with places like this. Where we are staying is a great base of operations to explore. With a variety of day trips to keep the kids active this is turning out to be the best vacation we’ve ever had.
