Déla turned 8 Thursday last week (if you remember from my blog post from Friday), but her birthday party was held on Saturday. I won’t go into the problems we had in picking a theme or venue for the party. It may have taken a while, but when we hit on what and where, Déla finally got excited.
Vertical World is a climbing gym … maybe I’ll just let the pictures tell the story.
This is how things started out with two lines and a bunch of kids waiting for thier turn – not Xavier at 3 years old trying it out)
Xavier never made it more than 3 feet above the ground, but he always got right back in line to try again
There’s Dela looking for a good foothold
After a while we switched to a different spot, one that offered more (and longer) challenges
At the second spot the kids climbed there was a little more room to relax while waiting
Here’s August in the “bouldering” section next to the party room
Ciaran kept climing over the side of the pirate ship again and again and again
One of Dela’s friends spent the night and things were so crazy after the party that evening Dela didn’t get to open her presents until the next morning
Thanks to all the parents of her friends that made it out and helped to make it a really fun party for everybody. And thanks to Vertical World for being accommodating and helpful.
