Going To The Goal

I got to take my son to the Sounders FC game last night. Well, no, I got to let somebody else take my son to the Sounders FC game last night.

One of the accounts I follow on Twitter is of the official account for the Emerald City Supporters, one of the Sounders FC supporter groups. In my stream I saw a tweet from one of their members they retweeted, where this guy said “I have a free front row Section 106 ticket if anyone is interested. GF is sick and can’t go.”

I immediately replied to both asking if I could send my (adult) son since he hasn’t been to a Sounders game in a couple of seasons. I would have loved to have gone, really, but was unable to since I had parental duties.

Fortunately, Kyle had come home from work early, so I knew he would be able to attend. Since I was the first one to reply, the ticket would be mine. Well, Kyle’s.

Arrangements were made and Kyle was able to go. Apparently the seats were amazing, actual front row about halfway between the goal and the middle of the pitch.

I’m glad that I was able to facilitate this and enable my son to go. Thank you to Jason and the Emerald City Supporters for making it happen.
