I know it’s late. I’m going to post this entry that should have been posted on the 4th, and this coming Friday I’ll have another entry. I’ve been sick and not getting much sleep, been busy with … stuff. Nothing important, really. On with the pictures.
On Sunday the 29th of September the kids had their second qualifying round of cross country races. Here’s Ciárán coming in towards the end of the pack. He would have been a bit more towards the middle, but these pictures don’t show you how he stopped (literally) a couple of times to wait for his best friend who is behind him in the picture.
Then there was Déla. She made no pretense about walking part of the course. On her way to the finish line she was sort of sauntering along content to let everybody else go past. Then as soon as she got next to me about 50 feet away from crossing the finish line she sprinted.
Then came August. Since he is in 4th grade now, he runs a longer course, about a mile. He may have been last, but he didn’t give up and he tried his best, and that’s all you can ask for.
