The Requisite Daylight Savings Time Post

As I begin typing this out it is 5:20 in the morning. I have been awake for an hour.

We “stayed up” until about 10 last night, turned the clocks back an hour, then went to bed. I sure was tired and looking forward to getting some sleep.

Normally I wake up a couple of times in the middle of the night, and I’m used to it, and get back to sleep alright. About 4 in the morning (which would have been about 5 adjusting for the time change) I woke up and was having a little trouble getting back to sleep.

Finally drifting off to sleep, Xavier wakes up. 4:20 in the morning. His internal clock wasn’t going to be fooled. So I got what should be considered a full night’s sleep, but I am so tired. My preschooler, however, is full of energy.

Today is going to be a long day.

Thankfully Amazon Prime and my Kindle Fire are available. Whenever he’s wakes up “early” he watches an episode of The Backyardigans until I’m ready to face humanity in a civilized manner – essentially, after I have some coffee.
