NaBloPoMo 2013 Victory Lap

Success. At least as far as I am concerned.

I wrote up a blog post for each day this month, which I did when I first tried this experiment two years ago, but this time around there are a couple of major differences. First, I only had one “bad” blog entry, right in the middle of the month (November 13th’s The Missing Blog Post). I could make excuses, but that’s sort of that whole blog post. The other thing that I feel proud of is I didn’t look at any of the prompts for NaBloPoMo this year. 2 years ago when I did this I looked at the prompts often and even used a couple. As a blogger it feels really good to be able to come up with material on my own consistently.

That consistency is what I am taking away from NaBloPoMo 2013. I started the month with 3 blog posts in my drafts, and have 2 left in there. Sure some of the blog posts are short (November 19th’s Creepy Buzz for example) but it is a genuine blog post. It is also a far sight better than the whiny posts that I filled up my blog with 2 years ago during by more desperate NaBloPoMo moments.

And I had a couple of comments on blog posts. 2 years ago not one comment on any of the blog posts. At least now I know some people are reading some of the blog posts. Slow progress is still progress.

But it is that consistency I need to continue on with. While I may not blog every single day, especially the weekends, I will strive to get at least 4 days worth of content posted. It doesn’t mean I will, but I know that I am capable.
