I don’t really know Brian. He and I have little in common other than both being dads and having blogs. He seems to be a rather active guy, just look at his blog, dashingdad. He’s a runner and even has a whole section on his blog about fitness. Me? Yeah, that’s not me at all. When was the last time you read a post here about a workout of any kind?
Reading some of his posts the two of us are in completely different worlds.
There are things we do have in common. Like me he is a stay at home dad. Unlike me, however, he has this positive attitude that permeates all of his blog posts. And he’s intelligent. I mean, look at this post he did about time zones and New Year’s Eve.
I can’t decide if he is commendable or irritating.
Maybe 70/30.
Looks like he’s been blogging for less than a year but already he’s built up a decent body of work and found his voice. Good for him. Keep up the good work Dashing Dad.
This is a blog post that came out of a challenge I posted to the other Dad Bloggers (note the Dad Bloggers logo on the right hand column of the blog). I threw out a challenge to other dad bloggers regarding the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints NFL divisional playoff game and the wager was a blog post. nobody would take it except one man, who would only take it on the condition of the spread being met. I am not a big sports guy, so I am not sure about what that meant. Essentially, as it was explained (very slowly) to me, it was if New Orleans won, I would write a blog post, and if Seattle won by covering the spread he would write a blog post and if Seattle won but didn’t cover the spread we would both write a blog post. James over at Luke I Am Your Father, another (better) Seattle dad blog, also tossed a blog post offering into the wager-tron-3000.
Seattle won, but not by the 10 points in the spread. So here I am.
This doesn’t feel like winning.
EDIT: Here are the other blog posts that are a direct result of this wager. Of the three mine is clearly the best. No, most intelligent. No, who am I kidding. Even their post titles are better than mine. Jeez.
