This is another song that was covered by numerous bands before The Beatles took it and made it their own. “Roll Over Beethoven” was a Chuck Berry song that was one of his early hits. This song would be a stable of The Beatles in their early years as one of the building blocks they used during their Hamburg and Cavern Club days. George sings this one and while it doesn’t have the same manic sensibility that “Long Tall Sally” does, there’s enough emphasis in this version to feel the authority being delivered here. Rock and Roll is here to stay. Released on With The Beatles BeatleSongs notes that Lennon sang lead until 1961 and Tell Me Why declares that George’s deadpan determination is simply glorious.”
Tevye is rolling all over the place. He has even begun scooching forward a little. At over 7 months you would expect him to. It is still surprising at times though.
Pokemon is enjoying another resurgence in the household. August has a massive collection of cards, with Dela, Ciaran and Xavier having a handful each as well. August played through Pokemon X, then this year for Christmas August and Ciaran got Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Pokemon Omega Ruby. Oh, and the manga is being routinely checked out of the library.
One day August got out his big binder of Pokemon cards and was going over a few of them with Ciaran. Dela joined them and as they were going over the cards Tevye wanted to see what all the fuss was about. But he was on the other side of the front room so the older kids thought they were safe.
Suddenly there was a baby where there wasn’t one before.
SURPRISE!
Tevye is rolling all over the place and has truly begun to navigate his world.
