Remember a couple of weeks ago when I talked about how a shirt we ordered had not arrived in time for Christmas? Well, it finally arrived, but that’s not the end of it.
When I contacted What On Earth before Christmas I was told the replacement shirt would arrive well enough in time. It did not. It arrived January 3. That’s nine days after Christmas. Thankfully Kyle lives in town and wasn’t visiting from out of town and had to leave before the gift arrived.
I contacted What On Earth again through the website to lodge a complaint about how the shirt was taking so long to arrive. The response I got was sort of … insulting.
A letter apologizing is nice. Actually signed by the person rather than an auto-fill form letter. But $5 off coupon? For something of this magnitude? Not only did What On Earth mess up the original order, but the remedy got botched as well. And for this to warrant a $5 coupon? That “refund” didn’t even get mentioned (or automatically happen) is a major mis-step in my opinion.
I know that ultimately we’re talking about a silly shirt, something that is ultimately inconsequential. Frankly, I don’t have time for companies that don’t treat me well.
And now What On Earth is one of them.
I am going to be hard pressed to order something from there again.
