The movie opens with a torture scene. There is no warning. It isn’t terribly long, but it is a bit disturbing. I think it is meant to be. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, nicknamed Breacher, is watching a video that I am assuming is his wife being tortured to death. The film picks up 8 months later with his elite Drug Enforcement Agency team taking down a drug cartel. Only thing is they are skimming some cash of the the evidence – approximately 10 million dollars.
The team goes under investigation, partly because of the missing money, and also because one of the team members died during the raid. Breacher is stuck behind the desk for a number of months. but when the investigation is dropped he and his team get their credentials back. It doesn’t take too much longer, but members of the team start getting killed.
With a cast that includes Terrence Howard, Josh Holloway, Harold Perrineau, along with Schwarzenegger and other recognizable names and faces you would think my attention would be kept better. I was bored so much before the film was halfway over I didn’t finish it. Literally. I stopped watching as the investigation into the deaths gets underway. What took 50 minutes to tell could have been done in 15 or 20.
