The first Art Of Noise track I remember being aware of was “Close (To The Edit)” essentially a remix of “Close To The Edge”.
Yeah, I don’t get the video either.
It remains one of my favorite tracks from the band.
Other than Trevor Horn, The Art Of Noise was a creation of studio musicians and producers. Throughout the 80s the group put out several albums, singles and music videos that seemed to epitomize the era. Then there were extended mixes of songs, again epitomizing the era.
“Paranoimia” Extended Mix
Another one of my favorite tracks by the band was the collaboration with Tom Jones for a cover of “Kiss”.
Sadly, finding a complete collection or box set of the group’s output is impossible. Many of their albums are out of print and there were many arrangements of singles and remixes that didn’t make it onto those albums. There needs to be a comprehensive overview of the band’s work. Preferably affordably priced.
