Folk Dancing In Bellevue

The Northwest Folklife Festival has beenĀ a staple of the Seattle area for more than 40 years. But that’s not the end of it. Now Northwest Folklife, the organizers behind the festival, have begun branching out to other activities throughout the year. One case in point is regular performances of folk dancing at Bellevue’s Crossroads Mall.

On the 3rd Saturday of each month at 6:30 on the Market Stage there will be performances by regional dancers.
April 16 – Eclectic Cloggers with Moonshine Turpentine
May 21 – Nrityalaya Dance
June 18 – Kisbetyarok Hungarian Dancers

The Eclectic Cloggers with Moonshine Turpentine with perform high-energy, traditional Appalachian step-dancing; the Eastside’s Nrityalaya Dance offer up classical Indian dance, a combination of rhythmic steps and expressions; and the Hungarian family dancers of Kisbetyarok Hungarian Dancers will showcase movements from their home country of Hungary. This is the third annual Cultural Arts Series at Crossroads Bellevue; each performance is family-friendly and offers an interactive experience for people of all ages. All events are free of charge.
