I did not know Amazon Restaurants was a thing, let alone complete hands-free ordering of food.
I got an email about how Alexa, Amazon’s intelligent assistant or whatever is inside the Amazon Echo, will reorder a meal. I’m thinking to myself “How can Alexa reorder a meal?” I go on Amazon’s website and lo and behold there is Amazon Restaurants, which is not available in all markets, but it is growing, and available where I live.
I could go on the Amazon Restaurants website, place an order, and have it delivered in an hour or less, and that order would be stored as with pretty much any other order on Amazon. Then using the Amazon Echo at a later time I could say “Alexa, reorder burritos from Gorditos,” and food would arrive at my house.
This makes me wish I had an Amazon Echo.
Well, that and a number of other things the Echo does.
And apparently there are no pricing mark-ups. The price on the Amazon Restaurants website is the same as in the restaurant. Deliver is free for Prime members. Amazon Restaurants is available in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Brooklyn, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Northern Virginia, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco Bay area, Seattle, and Tampa.
