I really had planned on not having such a break between the previous picture oriented post and this one, but as you know, life often gets in the way. As such I am posting this on a Saturday. Oops. Sorry, Sunday.
I promised more pictures of Déla in her role as Minstrel in her school’s production of Once Upon A Mattress. She had some great stage presence, and I’m not saying that because she is my daughter – there were a number of great actors there. She is a natural performer.
An example, here she is with the Jester and King during their number. This night the jester’s hat fell off during the dancing, so what does Déla do? She tilts her head so her hat falls off as if that were all part of the choreography.
She caught me taking a picture during the ballroom scene.
Of course if you have been paying attention to the calendar during my absence you would see that St. Patrick’s Day happened. This meant many performances around town.
Including the Seattle Center where my uncle Bill was performing. That’s him on the left.
Before Déla’s dance school took to the stage at the Seattle Center they were in the parade.
Other family members were there to watch the parade as well. Here’s niece Lara with her daughter but there were others as well.
And of course the show at the Seattle Center for the Irish Heritage Festival.
I was able to take three of the kids to see Hamilton when it was on tour in Seattle. It was everything it was purported to be. A few years ago I was able to take August and Déla to see The Music Man live, so it was nice to be able to share live musical theater with Ciárán.
Tevye stopped to smell the flowers on the way home from school one day.
Well, every day he can, actually.
Grandparents and Friends Day for the lower elementary grades was last week. I went to the preschool first for Tevye, then we went to Xavier’s class. After a short visit in the classroom we went to Egan Hall, had lunch and the kids performed a few songs.
Yes, Grace was there, too.
August and Déla were preparing for the Washington State Science Fair with their school science inquiry projects. Here is Grace helping Déla get her board together.
Such a good helper!
“Look what I can do!” (On the way home from preschool.)
Baseball season is upon us again and Xavier is up to bat during practice.
Here is August as the Washington State Science Fair.
Finally, here is Déla at the Washington State Science Fair.
I know it was a lot, and it has been much longer than I had planned since the previous post, but hopefully things are calming down a bit and I can get back to a regular schedule.
