It was a busy week, the first with the kids out of school, but most of the activities in this installment happened over the weekend. First up was Xavier’s final game of the season.
Then there was the crossing-over ceremony. Instead of a Blue & Gold banquet in February, which is when a number of Cub Scouts move up in rank, we hold our ceremony in June with a barbecue. Here is Xavier enjoying his soda (a treat he doesn’t get that often) standing on a large rock (which, again, he doesn’t get to do very often).
Here he is crossing over into the next installment of his Cub Scout career – the bridge is more ceremonial than anything, but it is still a cool ceremony.
Ciárán earned his Arrow of Light rank, which is a big deal because he was able to earn it in a year. Yes, WEBELO and Arrow of Light in a calendar year. It can be done.
Here he is crossing over into Boy Scouts.
August was there to welcome him into the troop.
Another major event was the changing of rooms in the house. Well, the rooms stayed where they are, but several kids shiifted where they sleep. August now has a room to himself for the first time in his 15 years.
Tevye has moved into the room with Xavier and Ciárán, and Déla in with Grace.
One day this week the kids got their teeth cleaned. Tevye was excited to have his teeth looked at.
That’s going to be it for this week. Who know what will be in next weeks’s installment.
