A Bit Of July (Summer Catch-Up Part 3)

A Bit Of July (Summer Catch-Up Part 3)

After Cub Scout resident camp there was a bit of activity in the month of July before we went on vacation to Victoria, B.C. (which will be another blog post coming soon, I promise). One of the things that happened in July was Déla attending a feis, and there are no good pictures from that, but here is Xavier who started to take Irish dance classes over the summer. His first feis will be next spring.

Marianne came out for a visit, and here she is playing one of Tevye’s favorite board games.

We made it out to the Aquarium one day as well. I don’t remember why Déla isn’t with us.

Tevye had a great time.

The seals were pretty active as well.

Grace was taken, as most people are, with the otters.

Later we walked along the waterfront.

While she wasn’t with us that day at the aquarium, but she was still quite active, including getting some metal in her mouth.

Then there was the annual Irish Night at the Mariners. We got our tickets through the dance school as usual.

Oh, look, there we are on the board.

Then there was the day the original Pagliacci closed. There are plenty of articles about its closing all over the place, and I should probably include my own memories of the place. I’ve been going there, to that location, since 1982, but obviously it’s been a while since I’ve been. On its last day they were giving out free slices so we went to partake. Tevye didn’t quite understand what was going on, but I love this picture of him trying to be patient.

It was a long line, but we got there early enough that it didn’t take too long to get in.

While I am not necessarily going to miss this location, it is sad to see this bit of Seattle’s past go away.

A couple of days later we went to Victoria on vacation, but that’s going to be another post.
