Vancouver Island Part 6 (Summer Catch-Up Part 7)

Vancouver Island Part 6 (Summer Catch-Up Part 7)

In this installment of our vacation retrospective we go to Cathedral Trail and Elk Falls, and in the same day. Yes, it was a long day. Let’s get into it, shall we?

On the drive up we stopped at a rest area and this was the view.

Trees!

As you can see in the background, there are a lot of cars, meaning a lot of people were visiting this spot. It was quite a popular area, partly because it isn’t terribly far from Victoria as well as being what it is.

This area features some of the oldest trees in the region.

It was a small loop trail, not taking terribly long to get through.

Majestic? Absolutely.

Tevye was fascinated with the area.

After that, we drove further up the island to Elk Falls, which is nice enough but it’s the suspension bridge that is the draw.

The area is quite interesting with its history.

There were a lot of stairs on the trail which slowed Grace down a bit.

Another beautiful area.

Grace really enjoyed the area and was fascinated with the falls.

Here’s the bridge.

Some of the kids went back and forth a few times despite being scared.

On the way home we stopped at a fast food place to pick up some veggie burgers.

What I found interesting was how the boys each hung out in the van in a similar fashion.

They are so well behaved…

It was a long day, but a good one.
