Shivering, Limping, Twitching

A few months ago at Cub Scout camp I pulled a groin muscle. It isn’t a big deal, just something I deal with especially as it doesn’t affect my general day to day activities, especially now. I do feel it during spin class though, but that’s not the point of this post.

This morning was cold. Not quite freezing, but close to it. And foggy. Kind of creepy foggy to be honest. I couldn’t see more than a couple of houses up the street with the street lamps help.

Usually when walking to spin class, because it is only a few blocks distance, I don’t wear a coat, or drive, or anything like that. So this morning about a block away from home I started to really feel the cold. First it affected my previously injured leg muscles which really started to contact giving me a little bit of a limp. Then I started to shiver a little, not a lot, but enough that I regretted not wearing a sweatshirt.

Then…

I walked through a spiderweb.

Not a big one, but it had enough strands to freak me out. Having arachnophobia this was anything but a pleasant experience.

So there I am, walking to spin class, with a little bit of a shiver in my body and a little bit of a limp in my step as well as brushing my hands all over my head trying to whisk away these invisible strands. I am sure I looked like some sort of meth addict. And in the darkness and fog, well, I kind of wish somebody else were there to take a picture of me because I’m sure I would have elicited at least a chuckle.
