“Step Inside Love” was the theme song to Celia Black’s variety show, and written by Paul McCartney. Never officially recorded by The Beatles , there are a couple of demo versions created by Paul. The first is the general tune, then there’s the second verse (or maybe it’s the first actual verse, just listen and discern for yourself). During the recording of The Beatles (or The White Album) the group (minus George) did an impromptu performance while tape was rolling. How impromptu? The second half of this song is a jam, a riff on something John says in response to Paul while joking around. And you can tell this wasn’t meant for much of anything other than reference because John is not on mic’d up.

August is taking driving lessons.
Thankfully we don’t need to add him onto our insurance until he actually has a license, which will be soon enough.
Currently, because of his age, he is required to take a number of hours of classwork in addition to time behind the wheel – supervised of course.
Yesterday was his first time actually behind the wheel. Laura took him out to a local community college where the large parking lot would be empty.
Oh, my anxiety level rises just thinking about it.
When I learned to drive, the requirements were different, largely because I was an adult.
When Kyle got his license, because he was 18, again, the requirements were different. It got to be so infuriating and stressful helping Kyle learn to drive we eventually had to pay for an instructor to take him out to learn.
Because of budget cuts the Washington Department of Licensing doesn’t have as many branches as it used to. This means there are fewer locations for the written and driving tests to be conducted. It took a few years but finally there are private companies that will conduct the classroom work as required along with options for some behind the wheel time in addition to conducting the written and practical driving test.
For a price, of course.
Apparently, though, Laura said August did great on his initial drive. They stayed in the parking lot, which does include a road that goes almost all the way around the school.
One session down, many more to go.
