A Few Random Spin Thoughts

Yesterday morning I stepped out of the house just after 5 a.m. to head over to spin class. My neighbor across the street was getting in his car to head in to work. After the usual exchanges of “Morning!” he said, “Walking to spin?” “Yep.” “Are you happy about it?” “Nope.” We both chuckled and…

Happy Thanksgiving

Just a short blog post for today, Thanksgiving, at least here in the United States. I know Canada celebrates in October, but that’s not where I live. Anyway… At this morning’s spin class the instructor had a set list full of songs about being grateful, giving thanks and having positive feelings. It was an admirable,…

Shivering, Limping, Twitching

A few months ago at Cub Scout camp I pulled a groin muscle. It isn’t a big deal, just something I deal with especially as it doesn’t affect my general day to day activities, especially now. I do feel it during spin class though, but that’s not the point of this post. This morning was…

Grey Days (Or Is It Gray)

It’s been a pretty decent autumn so far. The amount of rainfall has been measurable, but not outrageous. There have been a number of sunny days as well as warmer temperatures. I am not complaining about this at all. Actually, it’s been great. Most mornings when I go to my spin class it has been…

This Monday will be my 246th spin class. I really didn’t expect to last this long. No, really, I didn’t. If you know me, then you know I’m not a fan of exercising. If you actually see me then you can be certain of it. Some people get energized by exercise. Laura certainly does. She…

151 (or Highs And Lows)

This week has been… let’s just call it interesting. How about Tuesday? Lets recall that day for starters. The day started on a high note. My usual 5:30 a.m. spin class was a highlight as the first song of the set was by Huey Lewis & The News. I rather enjoyed that quite a bit. By…

I have talked about my current exercise regimen before, and yes, I’m going to talk about it again, but perhaps not in the way you might expect. And yes, I’m certainly going to make mention of the fact that I don’t enjoy exercising.  It is actually sort of important to the point of this post….

Music Monday: Versus

By |

I have mentioned before that I do spin classes. I have also mentioned before that I don’t particularly enjoy them. It’s not the instructor’s fault, or any problem with the studio. It really is my own disposition, along with the disagreement my body seems to have with the process. One of the things that I…

Mornings

Mornings

Monday I wake up about 5 or 10 minutes before 5a.m. Spin class starts at 5:30 – the only time I can make. I have to be home by 6:30 to get the house going. Kids need to get up for school, Laura needs to get off to work, diapers need to be changed, etc….
